Itinerary

Shimla, the Summer Capital of India during the British rule is widely popular as ‘The Queen of Hill Stations' for its beautiful appearance enhanced with the Pine and Deodar forests. The ambiance itself rejuvenates the tourists who go there. Reaching the place, check-in at the hotel to freshen-up. Enjoy the remaining time of the day by visiting the Mall Road and Ridge Road to shop or to eat and rest at the hotel at night.

Today, you will meet your companion of the journey a Royal Enfield Motorcycle of 350 ccs. A road captain will also be there to inform you about the Indian riding rules and you are ready to leave for Sarahan. It will take you 5 to 6 hours to reach Sarahan which has many things to offer. It was Bushahr Kingdom's Summer Capital with beautiful hill sculptures and finds its name in various legends. Make sure to visit the Srikhand Mahadev Peak to peep into the deep valley and finally, check-in at the guest house. You can spend the remaining day, the way you want by visiting the nearby places and have a peaceful sleep at the guest house.

Have your breakfast, give your bike some rest and explore the village of Sarahan on feet. Visit the Bhimakali Temple built in the 12thc in Kinnauri style with timber and stone to protect it from an earthquake. Next, get on to your bike to go to Sangla Valley or Baspa Valley (as the river Baspa flows through the valley, so it is named so). The Kamru Fort where the coronation of Kinnaur's King took place is the hot spot to visit; you can go there after checking-in at the guest house. The fort is in the village of Kamru, the real capital of Bushehr Kingdom and it has a tower-like appearance and also consists of Kamakhya Devi's temple. End your day with a good sleep.

Finish eating and start riding to the largest and pretty Kinnaur hamlet, Kalpa. It is popular as a heritage village and offers numerous beautiful sights. Get inside your guest house for resting a bit and then start your Kalpa exploration. You must visit the newly built Tower like Durga Temple, and the famous Buddhist Hu-Bu-Lan-Khar Gompa and the Narayan Nagini Temple. Remember to go the Kinner Kailash Peak for a vivid overview and finally rest in the guest house.

Have a satisfying breakfast and then accelerate the trip towards Tabo, the town on the banks of Spiti River. Bounded by hills on both sides, this town valley in at an altitude of 3050m and you will get to have some good camp-time when you check-in there. Seek pleasure in the leisure time by relaxing or enjoying the camp atmosphere or explore the nearby places. Finish the day with a sleep at the campsite. You have reached half-way to your Himachal Pradesh Valley Bike Trip and a lot more places are waiting for you.

Begin your day by visiting the Ajanta of Himalaya or the Tabo Monastery which was built in 996 AD and is the largest one in the Spiti Valley. After this, ride towards Kaza situated on Spiti River's left bank at a height of 3600m and was previously Spiti's chief, Nono's capital. Take some rest 24 away from Kaza, at Dhankar Monastery which originally served as a prison when it was erected in the 16thc. You will find a new monastery, just below the old one. Your next stop will be Pin Valley which is situated below a Glacier named Kungri. The valley is an attractive spot for its unparallel beauty and exciting trekking facilities. Continue your ride towards Kaza which is popular for its snowy peaks, lush green fields, and clean waters. Reach Kaza, Spiti's capital and check-in at a camp to gather energy for further traveling. Once rejuvenated, wander across the place and go towards the Sakya Tangyud Monastery, a popular spot of the region. This monastery is one among the many ancient monasteries in Himachal Pradesh and is situated at 4,587m heights. This is actually an old Gompa that has been designed as a fortified castle and this adds on to the attraction.

Devote your day to an excursion to the famous monasteries near Kaza and Ki-Kibber. Visit the most popular Key Monastery which is just 12 km away from Kaza and was the training ground of lamas. With numerous corridors and rooms, it is the largest monastery in the valley of Spiti where you will find countless Thangka paintings. Few kilometers away (9 to be specific) from this monastery in Kibber is a smaller Gompa. Kibber is the highest always populated village at a height of 13,792 feet. Ride a few miles more to reach the Langza Village, to witness the breathtaking view from the Gaya Peak (6000m). Return back to Kaza and retire to the bed after a long day.

After breakfast, prepare yourself to ride past numerous villages of Spiti like Pangmo, Rangric, Kito, Loser, and Hall to reach the Chandra Tal Lake. The 4600m Kunzum Pass is near Loser and from this pass; you can see the Ranges of Chandra Bhaga. Reaching the lake, make your tent to relax or you can also roam around to enjoy the place. Sleep the night away in the camp.

Eat your heart out and then begin your ride towards Keylong, a region popular for its crystal clear and fresh ambiance. To reach this place you will have to cross Chandra and Chenab Valley and drive north-east for 7 km. Check-in at the hotel for resting and enjoy the remaining day by wandering away. Get, a good sleep to prepare for the final day.

In the last day kick-start your bike to reach Manali, a popular junction in Himachal Pradesh following a similar route to reach Gramphu across the Rohtang Pass.
